Dollfus & Muller's FAQ

If the gap is not well regulated, what will happen to the felts?

Compacting felts for textile industry
Compacting felts

If the gap is too small, the felt will be compressed between the drum and the tensioning cylinder. The surface will then be quickly damaged and we will have what we call “an orange skin” or “an elephant skin”

If the gap is too much open, the felt will not suffer but on the other side, the compaction will not be good.
